Anniversary Poem #1:
An Age Ago
An age ago, when first we met,
I set my eye on you.
For then I thought, in the folly of youth,
That what I saw was true.
And because I was caught by your beauty so,
The illusion was bound to go on:
I'd believe in the vision of merest sight
And embrace you in my arms.
But all these years have since gone by,
And as I stand to look again,
I find that my vision was never a-right
For there is more here, in the end.
Your beauty has grown in measure unbound
For now it's the soul that shines.
And it shines even brighter with each passing year,
And tells me that you are mine.
So now each day, when again we meet,
I look on you and adore
The one you've become -- you inspire me,
And I'll love you forever more.
