Romantics Guide to Popping the Question-- by the widely known and read Michael Webb, author of The RoMANtic.

All Romance Tips on this page were developed by Steve McCardell. Loved ones referred to as women on this page, but tips are for both guys and gals. We don't ask for any support for this site, but if you like what's here, we'd appreciate a link from your website. Thanks!

Romance Tip #1:

Write it down! When your loved one mentions something that she would enjoy -- whether a thing or an experience -- don't rely on memory. The first chance you have in private, write it down. Keep a running list of all the things she's mentioned so that, when a romantic moment is called for, you have a list of things to help make it special.

Romance Tip #2:

Write it down Part 2. Don't just write down things your loved one wants. Write down things that are important to her:

  • The birthdays of her friends and family, to remind her if she forgets. (She'll be grateful!)
  • Facts about her childhood.
  • Specific authors, artists, or songwriters she likes but maybe doesn't mention often.
  • Specific towns she's been to in her travels.

... You get the idea. Specifics about her. These can be used when planning a romantic event or anytime you see something related to the list. When that author comes to town for a book signing, for instance, time for a surprise trip to the bookstore.
