Valentine's Day, and what may I say to you but that it means more to me this year than ever before, only because I've been with you longer now than yesterday, or last week, or a year ago.
Days so often pass by, uneventful. Weeks pass by when we are so busy, we hardly remember what we have. But whenever I stop to think on it, to reflect on who you are and what you mean in my life, I can only give thanks.
I am grateful, then, not only for the best of times between us -- the warmth of bed beside you, your touch, your care, the evenings out, the dreams we share -- but also for the rougher times -- the times when we're forced to grow.
Grow. Not only as individuals, but as a pair that I pray now, as I always have, will last beyond time in this world and through eternity of the world to come.
Always yours with the sincerest love,
Valentine's Day Love Letter #2
My Love,
Valentine's Day, and the cold snow of winter still clings to the earth. But beside you, it is nothing, for I feel not only the heat of your body beside me, but I am warm inside as well. Without you, I would feel the chill right through to my heart.
The year swings through its seasons, and I find myself glad for every one, so long as I can share them with you. The winter holds no ill for me with your warmth nearby. The spring brings the world back to life and, as the flowers grow, so too does my love grow ever more for you. The summer arrives, and the flashing of your eyes in the sun is more than I can bear. Then autumn brings a chill once more, the leaves cascade, and I am glad to stroll arm in arm with you in our last days for the year out of doors.
Each season, each month, each day brings something new with you, and I am glad for them all. To be with you today, and tomorrow, and every day to come ... that is the gift of Valentine's Day, and of life with you.
With the deepest gratitude and love,
